Innovative Modular Solutions(IMS), headquartered in Bolingbrook, Illinois, was honored with two awards, including the Judges Choice award, at the annual Modular Building Institute (MBI) convention, held this year in Orlando, Florida.
The Awards of Distinction are given each year to recognize the best modular building construction projects completed by MBI members. Each entry is reviewed by an impartial panel of industry and non-industry construction and code experts, architects and engineers, and marketing professionals. Building entries are judged on architectural excellence, technical innovation, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, and calendar days to complete.
IMS captured the prestigious Judges Choice award and First Place in the category of Permanent Education over 10,000 square feet for the Old Redford Academy Project in Detroit, Michigan. The Judges Choice award is given to the entry that receives the highest overall score from the judges. The 20,200 square foot building serves all 9th grade students in a separate and focused environment prior to their advancement to the high school. The building includes classrooms, administrative offices, cafeteria, warming kitchen, storage space, and restrooms. It also features ceramic murals with the Old Redford crest at the entrance floor and on the cafeteria wall.
