Besides thousands of early 20th century Red Cross posters, pins and original artwork, unusual items include vintage uniforms, statues, models, books, disaster supplies, paintings and periodicals.
From bandages to badges and everything in between, the collection is a historical record of the American Red Cross.
The entire inventory will be sold by internet-only auction, which is online now and begins closing at noon on Friday November 13th. Preview is onsite from 1-4 Thursday November 12th at the former archives facility at 7401 Lockport Place, Lorton, Va.
"This liquidation is like e-bay on steroids," Rasmus said, "instead of selling one item to one buyer, we will sell many items to many buyers in a single event, and unlike a traditional auction, nobody has to go anywhere to participate.
