"I am a chemo nurse, and I have found that patients need more comfortable apparel to wear during treatments," said one of two inventors from Orangeburg, S.C. "Most patients come in wearing a regular shirt, which has to be pulled down in order to put medications in the port. This shirt provides medical personnel with easy access to ports, making treatment easier for both staff and patients."
They created a prototype for the patent-pending CHEMO SHIRT to enable the patient to receive chemotherapy treatment more easily. The shirt offers quick, easy access to ports. The design saves the patient from having to remove his or her shirt or pull down the shirt to reach ports. This saves time and effort for medical staff. Also, it is designed to keep the wearer warm and comfortable.
The original design was submitted to the Columbia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
