From 1998 through July 2014, at least 624 children, most of them 3 or younger, died from heat stroke after being left in a car. This devastating figure inspired an inventor from Houston, Texas, to devise a solution. "I was inspired by the recent tragic deaths of children inadvertently left in the car by parents who mistakenly forgot they were there," he said.

The DANESH PROTECTION SYSTEM will warn and advise the driver when there is a child left in the seat and the engine is not running. This ensures that the child is not left behind in the vehicle unattended. The convenient reminder is designed to prevent over-stressed, busy parents from putting their children at risk for injury or death caused by excessive heat or cold. Additionally, the device is usable with any new or existing vehicle.

The original design was submitted to the Houston office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
