Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., InventHelp is submitting the E CUP to applicable companies in the hopes of their good faith review.

As a matter of personal safety, it is good practice for women to keep track of their drinks and not leave them unattended, particularly in social settings. However, that’s not always easy to do. Fortunately, an inventor from Jacksonville, Fla., has found a way to make sure women can avoid having someone slip drugs or any harmful substance into their drinks.

She developed the patent-pending E CUP to prevent tampering with a beverage inside a cup. As such, it keeps users safe from sexual predators and other criminals who try to slip drugs into their victims’ drinks. It, thus, affords peace of mind that drinks are safe. At the same time, it saves on wasted drinks left unattended and considered unsafe. Furthermore, it prevents persons other than the owner from accidentally drinking from the cup. Besides that, it is convenient, effective and affordably priced. It is also lightweight, portable and ideal for travel. In addition, its simple design minimizes production costs.

The inventor’s personal concerns inspired the idea. “I was disturbed by the recent news stories of women and who had been sexually molested after having their drinks laced with drugs by someone they trusted. This also happens all too often to female college students at bars and parties,” she said.

The original design was submitted to the Jacksonville office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
