Pittsburgh-based InventHelp is working to submit this idea, THE HOOK UP, to applicable companies for their consideration.

"I have watched so many young children almost be struck by vehicles while they were walking through parking lots with their parents," said an inventor from Huntington Station, N.Y. "After seeing how dangerous parking lots can be, I came up with this idea to protect the safety of children."

He developed THE HOOK UP to provide a more convenient way to keep track of a child. The system ensures that the parent knows exactly where is or her child is at all times. This greatly enhances the safety of a young child while in a parking lot, as it reduces the risk of the child being struck by a vehicle. The invention offers added peace of mind to parents and caregivers. Additionally, the system is ideal for monitoring the child in other public places, including parks, malls, sporting events, etc.

The original design was submitted to the Long Island office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
