Media stories continue to report the injuries and lost lives directly related to auto crashes in which the driver’s vision was impaired by sun glare. This is exactly what an inventor from Jonesville, S.C., was concerned about when he set out to reduce tragedies of this type.

He developed Transitional Windows to provide enhanced visibility for drivers during the day and at night. As such, it improves roadway safety. It does so by eliminating sun glare through the windshield and also providing a clear view for night driving. As a result, it reduces the chances of motor vehicle accidents caused by sun glare through the windshield. It, therefore, lowers the number of insurance claims filed, which helps keep insurance premium rates from rising. It also eliminates the need to wear sunglasses while driving. In addition, it is user friendly, effective and affordably priced.

The inventor’s concern with automobile safety inspired the idea. “I was concerned about the growing number of daytime motor vehicle accidents in which the driver’s vision was compromised by sun glare. While tinted glass windshields help reduce this glare, they also obstruct night vision. I wanted to find an alternative that would prevent sun glare without compromising night vision,” he said.

The original design was submitted to the Columbia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
