An inventor and researcher from Evanston, Ill., wants to improve the overall activity of studying in human-, animal- and plant membranes. "I saw a need for a way to cut down on costs of antibody staining and probing membranes," he said.

Ideal for life-science and molecular-biology researchers, the BLOT WELL provides a more efficient way to stain/probe PVDF/nitran membranes (stripped or whole). It requires less antibody-cocktail solution and plastic (due to its more compact size), which cuts down on costs. The tray accommodates proteins in human-, animal- and plant-cell extracts derived from tissue samples or grown in cell-culture dishes.

The original design was submitted to the Chicago office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
