Deftly sidestepping the tropes of genre, this darkly comic tale is witty and wise by turns, with colorful supporting characters and laugh-out-loud moments.

In his novel “May I Walk You Home, Sarah Morgan?: A Love Story (sort of)” (published by Abbott Press), author James Vincent Frank presents a compelling read that explores the depths of the human heart through the blow-by-blow story of a tempestuous love affair.

In a modern quest/romance set on a college campus, notorious slacker Jon Burns somehow wins the hand of Sarah Morgan, a wild beauty and prolific artist, only to discover she is damaged and, worse, becoming unstable. But the lovers share a psychic connection, reflected in Sarah’s extreme paintings and Jon's increasingly bizarre paranormal experiences. Wrestling with it all – and each other – the two 20-somethings share the ordeal of Sarah’s disintegration, from which only heroic acts and the truest love can redeem them.

A key strength of Frank’s narrative is his refusal to his story to become gloomy. “I feel compassion for these two,” he says. “Their plight is unenviable – they’re destined to be together.” Deftly sidestepping the tropes of genre, this darkly comic tale is witty and wise by turns, with colorful supporting characters and laugh-out-loud moments.

Veteran romance novelist Terri Valentine writes:

“‘May I Walk You Home, Sarah Morgan?’ is a well plotted, character-driven drama that explores the taboos of today’s dysfunctional society with Frank’s unique sense of dark humor. You will laugh, you will cry, but most of all you will root for these two to prove that love does conquer all. A must read for all, young and old, who have struggled with the meaning of love in their lives.”
