Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 05, 2014
Verizon Wireless is the best overall performer by a hair, and AT&T Mobility is the fastest wireless data network, according to a Wireless Week story, March 5 about RootMetrics current study.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“I have been watching the wireless industry and all the major competitors over the last few decades. This year it looks like Verizon and AT&T are virtually tied for number one. Verizon being slightly ahead. Sprint and T-Mobile are a distant third and fourth, but they are also in the process of rebuilding their networks and companies and should be getting better over the next couple years.” Says Tech analyst Jeff Kagan.
Verizon and AT&T are always battling it out for number one. This time when it comes it comes to overall performance, Verizon squeezed out the number one spot. Verizon had an overall score of 89.7. AT&T was a very close second with a score of 86.2.
In addition AT&T has the fastest wireless data network in the industry. Sprint was number three with a score of 68.2, and T-Mobile finished the race at 64.3
“While we all recognize Sprint and T-Mobile have had their share of issues in recent years, it’s also important to recognize they are both in the early stages of what may be a massive reinvention and recovery.” Says technology analyst Kagan.
Sprint is replacing every part of their network thanks to an investment by Softbank, and T-Mobile is getting better every day as well.
“Over the next couple years I expect to see both Sprint and T-Mobile rank much higher. I expect to see them coming closer to AT&T and Verizon.” Says Principal analyst Kagan.
“So congratulations this year to both Verizon and AT&T.” Says Kagan.
