Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today a new release of Jenzabar's Internet portal, JICS Version 7.0, to help institutions of higher education better engage constituents and provide easier access to online communications and data. The new features in Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution (JICS) Version 7.0 include a faster interface and advanced customization options, allowing institutions to leverage in-house technology to deliver a Web-based social environment that strengthens the affiliation between constituents and academic and community groups, both on and off campus.
Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution connects candidates, students, alumni, faculty, and staff to an institution's database at any time from any Internet browser. The newest release, JICS Version 7.0, is built on Microsoft's .NET 3.5 framework for overall faster performance, extended capabilities to customize the campus portal, and additional password security. JICS Version 7.0 also incorporates a "News/Blog" portlet to give authors the ability to post news (including text and images); allows users to blog and post comments within JICS; and enables constituents to subscribe to an RSS feed for specific campus notifications or other important resources.
"Whether on the job or at home, we want quick access to online applications at all times," said Rick Tomlinson, Product Marketing Manager at Jenzabar. "The new release of JICS was developed to help higher education institutions deliver a more convenient communication channel for constituents to interact, and keep them up to speed on campus announcements."
Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution gives constituents 24x7 access to role-specific content, from administrative records and reports to online exams and chat rooms. The JICS portal is tightly integrated with Jenzabar's ERP systems and offers a single point of access to Web-based self-service, e-learning, communications, and community-building applications.
"The added capabilities within JICS will help constituents input, receive, and send information faster, offering a simplified way to share information with various networks," said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "JICS can be utilized to promote any institution's brand to candidates, engage constitutions on-campus, and stay connected to donors and friends--all key factors for institutional success."
