Reno attorney John White, principal and founder of White Law Chartered, is proud to celebrate serving 20 years as Adult Advisor to the Reno Leo Club. The Reno Leo Club is an extension of the International Lions Club, aimed specifically for youths age 12-18. Senior leadership and advisors are drawn from the Reno Host Lions Club, Nevada’s oldest chartered Lions Club, which has been a force for good and community involvement since it was established in Reno in 1920.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to play a part in our youth Reno Leo Club since its founding in 1995,” says John White. “In that time we’ve ushered literally hundreds of kids – a generation - into adulthood. The motto of Lions Clubs International is ‘We Serve’ and hopefully we’ve done our part to instill in them solid community values and a desire to serve their neighbors, that will last a lifetime.”

Since 1925, when Helen Keller stood before the International Convention and challenged members to become "Knights of the Blind in the campaign against darkness," Lions have given the highest priority to sight conservation programs. A Lion invented the white cane and Lions started the first school for guide dogs for the blind. The Reno Host Lions Club hosts dozens of events and projects throughout the year. One of its most impactful programs is its monthly “Computers for Kids” which distributes refurbished computers to kids in need and provides instructional lessons. Several years ago, this program was transferred to the Reno Cigar Lions Club, a rapidly growing club co-founded by John White and fellow Reno Host Lion David Dehls.

In addition to serving his community through the Reno Leo Club, John White practices law in his own firm, White Law Chartered, which was incorporated as a Nevada professional corporation in 1978. They perform general civil practice, centered primarily on Chapter 11 bankruptcies, wills, probate, real estate and related litigation. They also commonly prepare business and prenuptial agreements and seek damages when their clients are defrauded. They have formed many local business entities and more recently, helped with Reno’s foreclosure crisis.
