Newport Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) March 13, 2007 -- The Official John Wayne Centennial Celebration, a highlighted feature of the 8th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival, (April 19-29, 2007) will pay homage to the larger-than-life figure who would turn 100 this year.
In honor of its famed native son, city of Newport Beach, along with Wayne Enterprises and the Newport Beach Film Festival, will commemorate the Duke’s 100th year with screenings of the movies that made him a star, including “The Sands of Iwo Jima” (1949), “Rio Bravo” (1959), and “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance” (1962).
