Author Kevin J. Villeneuve has always been a fan of universes such as those of Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, as he says their depth showcases the author’s passion for their work. Villeneuve now aims to create his own fantastical universe in the written world.
Villeneuve invites pre-teen readers to experience the dawn of his new universe in his new sci-fi novel, “The Adventures of Nick and O-Zone: Protectors of the Universe” (published by iUniverse), which follows Nick, 12, and his robotic friend O-zone, on a journey across the universe.
Nick’s friend O-Zone, a robot who is thousands of years old, invites Nick to join the universal defense team, Terraguard. Nick accepts, which marks the first step of their journey that will see them traveling the universe, fighting evil monsters and saving alien planets. During their epic journey, readers will learn about ecology, astrology and physics, among other topics.
“I want the children, parents and teachers that read this book to know that imagination and creativity are key to the success of our future generations,” Villeneuve says. “If children are taught to focus on the past more than dreaming about the future, we are wasting great potential.”
