Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems, a leading UK-based developer and manufacturer of motorsport safety technology, has announced a United States facility based in Santa Fe Springs, California. The company is working with major domestic sanctioning bodies and will manufacture, service and sell systems and components throughout North and South America.

"Now that we have SFI Certification, we are developing new systems for the U.S. market using the same Lifeline technology found in everything from the Aston Martin LMP01 and Ferrari FXX to Le Mans and the WRC."

Hotchkis, a former professional racecar driver who successfully competed in the Indy Lights series, will lead the company from its new headquarters in Southern California. The company will be provide high-tech fire suppression systems and technical support to teams in every type of motorsport, from the FIA-sanctioned American Le Mans Series to road racing, drag racing, circle track and stock car competition, vintage racing and even marine motorsports. It has already secured SFI certification for its revolutionary new ZERO 360 System that can instantaneously extinguish fires in three zones with no mess, and is developing new systems for the drag race and circle track market. Lifeline USA will also offer safety gear including quick release steering bosses, roll cage padding and an FIA-approved LED rain light.

Founded by former racecar driver Jim Morris, Lifeline is dedicated to developing new fire-fighting technology for the world's fastest racing machines and its parts currently protect the majority of world championship winning racecars. Lifeline was voted the best Small Motorsport Business in the UK in 2007 by the MIA, is an ISO 9001 company, a member of the FIA Safety Institute and has significant input in to the development of standards for motorsport fire protection.
