Author Lynnette Porter Joins Growing Internet Site Devoted to the Hit ABC Television Show 'Lost'

Co-author of 'Unlocking the Meaning of Lost: An Unauthorized Guide', to contribute to LOST Wiki which already contains nearly 850 separate articles on popular TV show.

Menlo Park, Calif. (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- Wikia, Inc., the leading site for developing and hosting community-based wikis, today announced that writer, author and Lost aficionado Lynnette Porter has volunteered to join the company's popular LOST Wiki, online at http://lost.wikia.com, as a regular contributor. Porter, who will engage with a community of Lost fans nearly 11,000 strong, will offer her analysis of the show's characters, plot developments and more.

"I'm captivated by the characters in Lost and the plot twists that often trip them up," said Porter, author and associate professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. "I look forward to sharing my passion for the show with other fans. The idea of an online community where people can come together and share their thoughts, comments and opinions is absolutely fascinating to me. I look forward to being a part of it."

With the Season Three series premiere of ABC's hit television show taking place this week, fans are increasingly turning to the Internet to discuss previous Lost episodes and speculate about what new plot twists are in store this fall. The LOST Wiki is a fully editable website with nearly 850 separate articles covering the latest show developments, episode recaps, detailed cast and character information and much more.

Porter has authored or coauthored six books, including Unsung Heroes of The Lord of the Rings: From the Page to the Screen, a literary and film criticism of J. R. R. Tolkien's characters. She has presented more than one hundred fifty conference papers before the Popular Culture Association, Popular Culture Association in the South, Tolkien Society, Society for Technical Communication, and other professional associations in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She also speaks at fan-related conferences such as the One Ring Celebration and Fellowship Festival. She teaches at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
