Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 2, 2009 -- Deborah Calla believes that now, more than ever, the world needs love. Calla, a Brazilian-born independent filmmaker, is busy with her role as a mentor at the Producer's Guild of America, enjoying the success of her films such as "A Beautiful Life," co-chairing the Diversity Workshop of the Producer's Guild, serving on the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Film Festival, helping to program the Latino Film Festival and most recently, dealing with the very real loss of her beloved husband that has left her a young widow.

As Calla puts it, "In challenging times, people need a voice and The Love Project Inc's web site, http://www.theloveprojectinc.com welcomes visitors with open arms. We have been moved by the correspondence, artwork, videos, poetry and emails that are coming in from people who are finding solace here. It is truly a place where we can share the strongest of human emotions - LOVE."

The Love Project Inc. web site features stories about amazing people, bloggers sharing their views on love and life, videos from visitors, photos, artwork and a store where you can buy "loving" gifts for yourself and those you care about. People as young as 6 and as old as your grandparents have written poems, love notes, "in memoriam" diary entries and shared their paintings, drawings and creative work.

Calla goes on to say, "I have been amazed at the emails that are flooding in thanking us for giving people a place to visit that deals with life and love with honesty and integrity."

A walk through the site gives visitors a peek at such inspirational articles as "Unconditional Love," by Anna Marie de la Fuente, a poem written by six-year old Sophia entitled, "My Infinity Love," stories about heroes such as Virginia Tech's Liviu Lebrescu, who unselfishly gave his own life to save those of his students on April 16, 2008. Claudio Bueno talks about losing his best friend at the age of 17 and Aaron reminisces about "Max the Pug." "I love you" videos abound and Markus Hoffman along with Chris Jonz are regular featured bloggers.

Calla will be speaking on the subject of diversity in film and television at the upcoming "Produced By" Conference on June 6th along with other industry notables as Betsy Beers (Grey's Anatomy), Bruce Cohen (Milk), Carlton Cuse (Lost), Lee Daniels (Monster's Ball), and Jose Tamez (Ugly Betty). She will be available for interviews.
