New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) September 17, 2012
Loyola University New Orleans will continue to offer scholarships of $4,500 to five individuals entering the school’s top-ranked online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program enrolling in the upcoming January term.
The scholarship renewal marks the third offering by the university with a series of scholarship opportunities available for candidates pursing the online nursing master’s program, totaling $67,500 in awards for new graduate nursing students in the past 12 months. Loyola University began offering the scholarship this year in recognition of its centennial anniversary and a 33-year history of providing world-class higher education to America’s nurses.
“We have designed this program for the working nurse, to develop their abilities and skills to think outside of the day-to-day operation. As a university, we do a great job of investing in our students and this scholarship opportunity contributes to the success we are helping them achieve,” says Jane Savage, associate professor of nursing at Loyola and coordinator of the online Master of Science in Nursing program and Healthcare Systems Management specialization. “As I read through each entry, it has been refreshing to see the passion our incoming nursing candidates have. As a Jesuit-founded university, it is our focus to care for the student and provide a unique opportunity to develop them professionally, as well as in their communities.”
Students applying to the online graduate nursing program will be asked to submit an essay explaining what nursing means to them and how a Master of Science in Nursing with a Healthcare Systems Management specialization would impact their career. Five winners will be selected to receive a $4,500 scholarship toward the online Master of Science in Nursing with a Healthcare Systems Management specialization.
Registered nurses who are ready to explore the advanced career options made possible with a nursing master’s degree can apply for the next round of scholarships to attend Loyola’s highly honored, online MSN program by visiting http://scholarship.loyolaneworleansonline.com/msn. Essays are now being accepted for candidates interested in beginning classes Jan. 7, 2013 with a deadline to apply of Nov. 30, 2012. All submissions will be reviewed by faculty.
