We have already demonstrated the benefits of the integration of Lummus’ PYPS+ model and Petro-SIM. KBC and our clients now have a single tool containing comprehensive technology to improve profits within both refining and petrochemicals complexes.
Lummus’ proven, kinetic furnace model processes a wide range of feedstocks, and it can be configured to match a variety of furnace geometry. Its availability within Petro-SIM provides a seamless platform to model steam crackers as well as upstream and downstream processing units and utility systems.

Petro-SIM, the full-featured KBC process simulator, provides a flowsheeting environment for the industry’s leading refinery reactor models and specialty aromatics reactors. With the Lummus furnace model, Petro-SIM can produce a fully integrated model to optimize upstream, refining, aromatics, and olefins processes.

George Bright, CEO of KBC commented, “We have already demonstrated the benefits of the integration of Lummus’ PYPS+ model and Petro-SIM. KBC and our clients now have a single tool containing comprehensive technology to improve profits within both refining and petrochemicals complexes.”

Stephen De Haan, vice president of Lummus Technology and founder of Lummus' Plant Performance Improvement (PPI) group which provides technical support for Lummus plants, stated, "Lummus is very pleased that KBC has integrated our model into their Petro-SIM system as well as using our model for their own studies. Their experienced engineers can now bring this model to Lummus as well as non-Lummus plants."
