National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) will receive the MEGA DAD award at the Every Thing for Dads Convention this Saturday.
NFI, founded in 1994, is receiving a MEGA DAD award for its 20 years of service to the promotion of fatherhood, and for its willingness to form committed partnerships with family- and community-oriented organizations across the country.
Organized by Jim McKenzie, founder of Every Little Thing for Dads, the conference is a “dynamic celebration of fatherhood” that will inspire and educate fathers about parenting in the 21st century.
The conference will be hosted by NFL and reality TV star Hank Baskett and Tampa Bay 10 news anchor Reginald Roundtree. The event will be filled with speakers and workshops to educate and inspire fathers on topics such as work/life balance, parenting skills, relationships, child development, fitness, child abuse prevention, grief and anxiety, pregnancy, breastfeeding support, career and business advice, and many other issues.
“NFI is honored to be receiving the MEGA DAD award, and we wish the Every Thing for Dads Convention great success as it embarks on this journey to promote involved, responsible, and committed fatherhood,” said Vincent DiCaro, vice president of development and communication for NFI.
Dads, moms, partners, and all who want to change the landscape to truly involve dads in parenting are welcome to attend, share, and network. The event is being filmed as part of a documentary project on modern fatherhood and a video on demand is being produced for release this summer.
