MRIS CEO David Charron has been named president-elect of the Council Of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS).

As the role of the MLS continues to evolve, I’m especially grateful for this unique opportunity to serve alongside some of our industry’s most influential leaders.

MRIS, the industry-leading Mid-Atlantic Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that facilitates over $150 million a day in residential real estate transactions, is proud to announce that its President and CEO David Charron has been elected president-elect by the Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS).

As president-elect, Charron will serve a one-year term followed by another year in the president’s position. He will join an executive committee alongside newly elected 2017 president, Lauren Hansen, CEO of Information and Real Estate Services, LLC (Colorado), Chris Carrillo, CEO of Metro MLS (Wisconsin), who will serve as secretary/treasurer and Kathy Condon, CEO of MLS PIN (Massachusetts), who will move to the role of past president in 2017.

“David was a natural choice for our president-elect,” said Denee Evans, CEO of CMLS. “Under his strategic vision, MRIS continues to lead the industry in developing innovative technology and cutting-edge business tools for real estate professionals, year after year. We look forward to bringing that vision and deep real estate expertise to serve the Multiple Listing Services industry.”

“It is an honor to be named president-elect of the Council of Multiple Listing Services,” said Charron. “I congratulate all of the new officers and directors, with whom I look forward to working. As the role of the MLS continues to evolve, I’m especially grateful for this unique opportunity to serve alongside some of our industry’s most influential leaders.”

Charron has been a key figure in the national conversation around the evolving role of the MLS. He has been instrumental in promoting MLS consolidation to create a more efficient marketplace that provides brokerage firms increased flexibility and greater control of their listing content.

The Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) is the professional trade organization that serves to advance the MLS industry in North America through unified leadership, collaboration, and education across the real estate industry. It was formed as a premier forum, advocate and resource in 1957 and has since evolved into a volunteer-led organization that is responsible for the advancement of MLS through education, innovation, and the implementation of best practices, industry standards, and next generation solutions in support of MLS providers with over one million subscribers.
