Window Book is Certified for MAIL.XML 4.0 and FAST

The USPS has certified Window Book's Mail.XML 4.0 technology used in its DAT-MAIL and Post Master mailing software for FAST appointment scheduling. This technology is for easily and accurately scheduling Drop Ship and Origin appointments online with the U.S. Postal Service.

Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) November 18, 2008 -- The U.S Postal Service has certified Window Book's Mail.XML 4.0 technology used in DAT-MAIL and Post Master for FAST appointment scheduling. Now mailers can easily utilize USPS approved Mail.XML 4.0 technology for scheduling Drop Ship and Origin appointments online with the U.S. Postal Service™. FAST is a revamped system for making facility appointments with the USPS® more efficient, saving mailers time through electronic notification of mailing and automatic tracking of appointments.

One of the requirements for participating in Intelligent Mail full service is to use FAST where mailers can take advantage of drop ship discounts by transmitting advanced notification of mailing data online to schedule appointments.

Window Book's DAT-MAIL is a complete mailing management software which processes both Mail.dat® and non-Mail.dat data. It uses MAIL.XML files to enable mailers to participate in FAST for making drop ship appointments with the Postal Service. Not only can you communicate directly with the USPS FAST system, any appointments you make can automatically have the appointment number appear right on the 8125 form in the appropriate field. By communicating this information online, mailers can also access their jobs to find out when the mail was actually delivered.

"Now our clients can easily edit or cancel their appointments, generate 8125s, view scheduled appointment reports, and save time on induction procedures because their mailing facility will be already prepared to accept their mail," said Jeffery Peoples, Window Book's CEO. Using FAST will definitely provide flexibility for the mailers and enable them to save time, benefit from low drop ship discounts, and meet Intelligent Mail requirements.

Clients who are interested in using FAST will need to fill out a Postal Service survey with a Window Book Postal Specialist There will be a ramp-up period where testing needs to be done based on the items of interest they selected in the survey document. The testing phase is a requirement just like when applying for participation in PostalOne! or Web Services.
