Arlington, Texas (Vocus/PRWEB ) April 15, 2009 -- Roll the dice, pick up a card, and repeat more than 50 times. This will be a familiar scene at the 20th annual Mind Games competition, hosted by Cincinnati Area Mensa. The event will be held April 24-26 at the Drawbridge Inn located in Ft. Mitchell, Ky. The Mind Games competition is an annual Mensa event that invites game manufacturers to enter their new games to be played and rated by Mensa's most dedicated gamers. Board games, card games, party games, games for children - the Mensans play them all.

Mensa members from across the nation will congregate to the Mind Games competition to play and rate new-to-market games for 48 straight hours. Some will only stop to eat and take a breather, while others will enjoy the company of fellow Mensa members that love games. At the end of the weekend, the points are tallied from the ratings members give and five games out of the group will receive the honor of bearing the Mensa Select® seal. Past Mensa Select winners include Taboo™, Scattergories™, Apples to Apples™, Hit or Miss™ and Qwirkle®.

"The Mensa Select seal indicates that Mensa members found the game intriguing, fun to play and easy to learn," said Jack Woodhead, chief judge of this year's competition. "The seal is used to acknowledge games to the general public that are creative and exciting. The games that win at the Mind Games competition go through a serious judging process and truly deserve to be recognized by the top two percent of the general population."

American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 57,000 members in the United States and more than 110,000 members around the world.
