The winery's Brut Imperial was chosen to be St. Louis Cardinals' celebratory champagne as they secured a spot in the playoffs during Saturday night's game against the Colorado Rockies.
"We had the honor of providing the celebratory champagne for the Cardinals' World Series win in 2006," said Chuck Dressel, President of Mount Pleasant. "We are elated to be chosen again to help the Cardinals celebrate their success."
Mount Pleasant's Brut Imperial recently took home the "Best of Class" award for sparkling wine, as well as a gold medal at the Missouri Wine Competition.
Mount Pleasant Winery (www.mountpleasant.com), founded in 1859, is located a short distance from St. Louis in Augusta, Missouri, the first government-appointed wine-growing district in the United States. The winery grows 12 grape varieties on 85 acres and its original limestone cellars are still used to age estate-bottled wines and international award-winning Augusta Ports. Visitors enjoy tasting wine in the spacious 4,000 square-foot tasting room and sipping wine on the terrace with spectacular views of the Missouri River Valley.
