Eleanor Garrow-Holding selected for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

I’m pleased to welcome Eleanor into this exceptional group of professional women. Her selfless work and personal courage is helping and inspiring thousands of people diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies and their families.

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Eleanor Garrow-Holding as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in the healthcare and nonprofit industry. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.

Like any mother, Eleanor Garrow-Holding’s priority is to make sure her child is safe and healthy. Her son Thomas suffers from life-threatening allergies to tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and sesame; eosinophilic esophagitis triggered by milk and wheat; asthma and environmental allergies. For 11 years, She has worked, educated and advocated in the food allergy community. Ms. Garrow-Holding and the FAACT Leadership Team provides the education, advocacy and awareness needed for the food allergy community. Currently, Ms. Garrow-Holding is the CEO of the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT).

As seen on her website, she “provides leadership, development and implementation for all of FAACT’s initiatives and programs, including Camp TAG (The Allergy Gang) – a summer camp for children with food allergies and their siblings that was founded in 2009.”

Ms. Garrow-Holding obtained a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration degree from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL, and for 15 years worked in hospital management in Chicago. She serves on the National Food Allergy Management & Education Advisory Board, the National Peanut Boards Allergy Education Advisory Council, Sea World’s Allergy Resource Team and Association of Food and Drug Officials Food Allergen Control committee.

Awards & Accomplishments: Establish Parents of Children Having Allergies (POCHA), a food allergy support group in Southwest Chicago, Chaired the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy 2007 / 2008, Awarded FAAN Muriel C. Furlong Award for Community Service 2008; Bachelor’s, Lewis University, Healthcare Administration
