With more than 25 years of successful sales and general management experience with dealerships in Kansas, Colorado and North Dakota, Alvin Dvorak is now leveraging his management expertise and leadership skills in the classroom as NCM Institute’s newest full-time faculty member. In his new position, he will work side-by-side with Robin Cunningham and Garry House to develop the management competencies of the next generation of dealership leaders through the NCM Institute Center for Automotive Retail Excellence.
Larry Beasley leaves Asbury Automotive Group where he has been the Pre-owned Process Director since 2009 and before that, served Sonic Automotive Group in a number of capacities with special emphasis in pre-owned operations management at the corporate and retail levels. He will bolster NCM Retail Operations Consulting’s capacity as it prepares to launch a new used vehicle operations improvement program this month.
Likewise, Richard K. Ackman comes to NCM from Borcherding Buick GMC in Cincinnati where he served as General Manager. Prior to that, Ackman was with Germain Motor Company in Columbus. In both organizations, Ackman was a strategic and tactical executive who used his strategic planning, operations, finance, marketing and sales, and change management expertise as an effective turnaround manager. He will bring those same competencies to many more retail auto dealerships as an NCM Retail Operations Consulting coach.
Paul A. Faletti Jr., NCM’s president and CEO, commented on the company’s search for talent and the addition of its three newest associates: “We’ve been seeking qualified candidates for over a year, as we knew it was critical to increase our capacity as dealers were once again able to turn their attention inward to improving processes and expanding their dealerships’ competencies,” he explained. “Alvin, Larry and Richard are joining us at just the right time and I am certain that with their collective caliber of expertise and experience, our capacity to meet the demand we’re experiencing now has increased by a power of three.”
The new employees were introduced to their fellow associates at a recent semi-annual management meeting where the company’s executive conference moderators and retail coaches convened at its headquarters in Overland Park, KS. At the meeting, several new consulting projects and training initiatives were reviewed, including the launch of the Retail Operations Consulting “38 in 8" program, an eight-hour, on-site evaluation of the dealership’s used car operation that results in an actionable business plan by the end of the day.
