(PRWEB) October 4, 2007 -- The New York Sea Grant Program received the Brine Family Trust grant to conduct a native insect pollinator project with Westhampton Beach Middle School. The New York Sea Grant mission statement is to develop and bring science to the shore to protect and enhance the economies, ecosystems, and resources of New York State’s coats. The Sea Grant Extension will be working with sixty students from Westhampton Beach Middle School to plant native coastal wildflowers and to create habitat for native bees.
"We are delighted to receive this grant from the Brine Family Charitable Trust which will enable us to expand our efforts to involve students on Eastern Long Island in restoring coastal ecosystems which are under considerable developmental pressure," says Robert J.
