Narconon Florida’s Executive Director, Cheryl A. Alderman and two of her staff attended “Drug Czar”, Mr. Dave Aronberg’s eye opening exposé on Florida’s prescription drug abuse and pill mill operations. The widely attended event, hosted by the Florida Citizens For Social Reform and Drug Free World was held at the historic Fort Harrison Hotel in Clearwater, Fl. on November 5, 2011
Alderman was invited to a VIP pre-event reception to personally meet with Aronberg other state and local officials including Acting Sheriff for Pinellas County, Mr. Robert Gualtieri, Circuit Court Judges, Hon. Patrice W. Moore and Hon. Pat Siracusa to exchange information to positively improve and unite efforts to completely eradicate prescription drug abuse in Florida. Efforts from all parties to do this include law enforcement, intervention, prevention, treatment and drug education.
Event guests where privy to undercover footage inside a “Pill Mill” showing the inner workings of a pain clinic and their creative ways to divert law enforcement.
It was prevalent throughout the presentations that Aronberg’s effort are in coordination with legislature, law enforcement, judges, treatment facilities and drug education groups to bring about a brighter drug-free future in the years to come.
“It was an honor to meet Mr. Aronberg as I have avidly followed his achievements in shutting down the pill mills, helping to enact new tougher legislation and working to get the drug data base in place. At Narconon Florida we see the terrible affects prescription drug abuse have on people as we help them recovery a happy, productive drug-free life,” says Alderman.
