Author Ninth Eyed was inspired by Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy” in his creation of the new fantasy book, “Jake Thomas and the Book of Destiny” (published by iUniverse).

“I thought for years on the ultimate question posed by Douglas Adams, ‘What is life, the universe and everything?’” Ninth Eyed says. “I was extremely disappointed by the answer ‘42’ and decided I would take the journey to go deeper.”

In a dystopian future, Jake Thomas is born in the New Order – a world without war – where children are content believing what they are told. Jake is different: he likes to ask why; but his questions could get him in trouble. When the police take away his best friend, Jake must consider the horrors of the outside world, realizing his own life might be in danger.

The sudden change of events in Jake’s peaceful life has something to do with a mysterious man named Jack and the Book of Destiny, now in Jake’s possession. On the run for asking too many questions, Jake looks to the Book of Destiny to guide him, but evil foes will kill for the book – unless Jake can stop them.

“Jake Thomas and the Book of Destiny” is built with complex layers that may require re-reading to gain the new perspective it offers. Ultimately, it seeks to remind readers to question facts before accepting them as truth.
