North Carolina beaches and tourism at the Brunswick Islands.

(PRWEB) October 26, 2012

Over the river and through the woods is a classic Thanksgiving journey. But sometimes a classic needs a facelift. Instead of snow beneath your feet, try the sand of North Carolina beaches between your toes. Exchange shoveling snow for climbing a lighthouse.

Celebrating at the beach isn’t resisting tradition. In fact, it’s downright patriotic. After all, the very first Thanksgiving was held on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Surely the Pilgrims pulled something from the sea for their harvest buffet.

Thanksgiving is the most heavily traveled holiday of the year, and being on the road is a given, so program the GPS for the southern North Carolina beaches and enjoy the scenic drive. It’s an easy jaunt from most anywhere on the East Coast.

Prepare to roast the bird and toast to friends in North Carolina’s Brunswick Islands. Play golf without crowds, give your heart a boost in a road race and experience holiday parades on the water. You’ll be thankful you did.
