Troy, Ohio (Vocus) March 18, 2010

In a move that brings together one of the nation’s oldest notification firms with the largest, One Call Now has acquired Telephone Broadcasting Corporation (TBC). The merger will not only bring the enhanced capabilities of the One Call Now system to TBC’s customer base, but will also provide enhanced capacity and expanded geographic reach for One Call Now’s network. The two companies pursue and provide service to a strongly complementary client base made up of schools, sports organizations, businesses, municipalities and religious institutions; the merger is anticipated to significantly expand One Call Now’s market share in the Southeastern United States.

In addition to providing additional services to the client base for both companies, the merger will:

  •     Provide additional system redundancy and capacity
  •     Increase survey/polling functionality
  •     Expand One Call Now’s client base by ten percent
  •     Provide access to One Call Now’s Protect Package, including WeatherBug® weather alerts, Amber Alerts for missing children and FREE Levy calls for schools.

“One Call Now will also be adding team members in its Troy, Ohio headquarters, including client specialists, sales and marketing staff, as well as tech support,” says company president Angela Kirchner. It’s not only staff that the company is enhancing; the merger will also complete a $700,000 capital equipment and capabilities expansion. This expansion translates to additional benefits for TBC’s existing clients: “TBC clients will be transitioned within a few weeks to our robust messaging platform; full value for services already purchased by clients will be protected,” reports Randy Weddle, One Call Now’s Director of Client Services.

Leib Lurie, One Call Now’s CEO, expressed, “We are excited about the opportunity to bring a broader array of services to TBC's clients, including Text Messaging, Email alerts, Hot Transfer, WeatherBug Protect®, Amber Alerts, as well as Levy calls for schools. At One Call Now we are focused on providing our clients the best available time and money saving communication products and customer service. Our acquisition of TBC will allow us to show another 4,000 clients this dedication to customer care and cutting edge communications technology.”
