Ontario Convention Center Expands Technology Services
The Ontario Convention Center has expanded its technology services to include webinars and webcasting.
Ontario, Calif. (Vocus/PRWEB ) January 7, 2009 -- The Ontario Convention Center has expanded its technology services to include webinars and webcasting. The Convention Center already offers VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), DS3 and Wi-Fi Internet services, so the addition is a natural extension of existing services.
A webcast is a streaming media technology and is a transmission of audio or video content over the Internet; essentially a broadcast. It is ideal for presentations and seminars because it's a single source of content that can be distributed to many listeners and/or viewers simultaneously.
By contrast a webinar or web conferencing is used to conduct live meetings or presentations over the Internet. Participants can join in via their personal computers and are connected to other participants. Interactions take place over the Internet and phone lines.
"Adding these to our existing services allows our clients greater flexibility," says Bob Brown, general manager and CEO of the Ontario Convention Center. "With budgets being cut, travel may not be an option for companies right now. This gives them a viable alternative to conduct their business without breaking the bank."
