The WUF Youth Summer Camp is just one more excuse for kids (and the adult staff) to get outside and be kids

Hayward, Ca (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

Outdoor hunting club Wilderness Unlimited in California and Oregon held its 4th Youth Summer Camp last June 19 to June 26. The camp was held at The Clarke Ranch and was attended by 53 young campers who enjoyed the outdoor experience.

“The WUF Youth Summer Camp is just one more excuse for kids (and the adult staff) to get outside and be kids,” said Jenna Copeland of Wilderness Unlimited. “Through the positive environment, tools and knowledge offered at Camp, kids are able to grow to become responsible sportsmen and women.”

The 7-day youth camp was attended by the 53 youngsters, together with 12 Junior Counselors, four Counselors, seven Activity Leaders and 10 Parent and W.U. Volunteers. Included in the camping activities were Hunter Safety Education classes such as archery range and rifle range field courses. These courses gave the kids experience on how to hunt and stay safe in the field as well as to enhance their shooting skills.

The camp offered a trap range that included single and double shot opportunities for beginners and more advanced shooters. The campers participated in fly fishing and swimming in the pond located at the camp. The kids also learned about first aid and wilderness survival, reading maps and compasses, and conservation topics.

Kids at the camp enjoyed arts and crafts activities, hiking, group activities, and evening activities such as movie night and ice cream making.

With this fun-filled summer camp of Wilderness Unlimited, kids are given a chance to go outside the classroom and experience learning and exploration in the field. The camp gives children an opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy their childhood in a safe and healthy environment.
