Safe Summer Surfing Made Easier with PC Pandora Monitoring Software

Summer is officially in swing, and as those final school bells ring, parents are sure to see an increase in time spent online by their kids - especially during the day when parents are at work. A new upgrade to PC Pandora computer monitoring software makes it even easier for parents to keep their kids playing safe all day long in the digital sandbox.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 26, 2009 -- While summer vacation used to be a welcomed break from the classrooms and a time to play outside with the neighborhood gang, the Internet and social networking have given kids both a reason to stay inside and a way to stay in touch with their classmates during the summer months. If you think your children already spend a lot of time online, you are sure to see a noticeable increase in their online activity in the hot, hazy and humid months to come.

"Kids on summer break are going to spend much more time unsupervised at home, inside, and much more time online," says James Leasure, co-founder of Pandora Corp. makers of PC Pandora computer monitoring software. "But so will sexual predators. They know kids will be at home alone all day. They are going to use that scenario to their advantage."

And it's not just the Internet predators…

"The Internet age of communication translates to kids staying in touch throughout the summer. While staying in touch with your friends is largely a good thing, there is a bad side: if cyberbullying or threats against your child were present during the school year, they will likely continue through the summer."

So what can parents do to make sure their child is staying safe online this summer?

"In this tough economy, parents are going to have to keep working throughout the summer. But if they are using technology like our PC Pandora monitoring software, they will know what their kids are doing online during the day."

PC Pandora works like a DVR for your PC. It gives parents a visual record of all computer activity through sequential snapshots of the computer screen, enabling them to see exactly what their children have been doing. For parents that have to be at work and leave the kids at home this summer without supervision, PC Pandora also comes equipped with the IRIS feature that sends email updates to parents at specified intervals.

"For a working parent, our IRIS email report feature is a totally indispensable tool," says Leasure. "IRIS allows the parent to completely monitor the child's online activity while at work or away from the home. Our excellent monitoring features, combined with reports delivered via email, are undeniably the best way to ensure that your children are staying out of trouble on the Internet during the long summer vacation."

To make the program even easier to use and more effective for parents this summer, Pandora Corp. has issued an update to PC Pandora that includes new support for Google Chrome, and several modifications in the user interface. But the most significant upgrades to the software are in the web access control and filtering features. A blacklist override (via whitelist) now makes setting filter controls a lot easier for parents and the new PC Pandora 5.3.11 will be able to acquire updates to the internet filtering function in a more streamlined fashion.

PC Pandora of course still has all the features that make it a leader in computer monitoring software, such as program blocking, email and instant messenger recording, keystroke logging, webcam capture, and search query recording, plus peer-to-peer and file tracking systems.

"We want parents to have the security of knowing their kids are staying safe online all summer, no matter where the parent is or has to be. Monitoring software is a valuable tool that provides that security through full knowledge of activity," says Leasure. "There's no reason not to know how your kids are interacting in today's Internet-oriented world."

A 2-hour trial of PC Pandora 5.3.11 is available on the company's website. As a special promotion for the start of the summer, the company is offering the software at a discounted price; parents can use the code 'safe09' at checkout to save $10 on the program!
