Orange Park Mall, FL, Moves and Refurbishes Play Area, Re-Opens “Like New” Indoor Playground

Orange Park Mall needed an economical way to move and refurbish an existing indoor playground. They called PLAYTIME and the play area now looks “brand new” and sits in a better location where retailers enjoy the boost in family traffic.

Orange Park Mall asked PLAYTIME to move and refurbish their play area. Now it looks brand new and shoppers are thrilled.

Orange Park Mall’s playground was located in center court. However, when the mall, which is owned by Simon Property Group, decided to remodel its center court to provide more comfortable seating for adults, Nicole Delmer, Regional VP, Marketing, says it was instantly clear that the indoor play area had to move.

Simultaneously, she says, some of the play elements were showing their age.

“One of pluses of having a playground is the traffic it pulls,” says Delmer. “We wanted to move the family traffic, so we moved the play area. The children’s retailers are tickled pink because foot traffic instantly picked up.”

The center needed an economical way to move the play area and to unveil a “like-new” playground in a new location.

“We asked PLAYTIME to replace some pieces and to refurbish others,” she explains. “We also installed brand-new carpet. It turned out perfect! It looks like a brand-new play area. You can’t even tell which play elements were refurbished.”

In fact, Delmer says that the remodel enabled the center to switch from an unbranded play area to a Kidgits Club playground, which is Simon Properties’ family entertainment brand. For example, PLAYTIME turned a baseball into a beach ball for the new indoor playground.

“It was economical to be able to remodel some of the pieces and to unveil a new, Kidgits-branded play area near our children’s retailers,” she says.

David O’Niones, PLAYTIME’s Vice President of Sales, says it’s always nice to help clients achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.
