Lanham, MD (PRWeb UK) March 11, 2010
PRWeb, the online news distribution service of Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), announced today it has signed five new distribution partners including a social network for the medical community and two publications that also serve the UK market. The partnerships expand PRWeb’s distribution network by adding specialized news outlets serving unique markets and geographies. The new partners include TopNews US, TopNews UK, ComputerUser, EPICOS and MEDesprit, a social networking site for the medical community.
Each partner receives a customized PRWeb content feed of news releases for syndication on their respective Web sites. For these partners, PRWeb provides a valuable source of targeted, editorially-reviewed content from tens of thousands of public and private businesses throughout North America and the United Kingdom.
“Our syndication network continues to grow at a rapid pace and is becoming an increasingly important part of the overall distribution picture,” said Jiyan Wei, director of Product Management for PRWeb. “Our customers not only want to see their news showing up on sites out on the Web; they want to see their news showing up on sites relevant to their business or industry. That’s why it is important we continue to expand the breadth of our syndication network.”
The five new PRWeb distribution customers include the following:
This news comes on the heels of PRWeb’s recent announcement of their first-of-its-kind partnership with Zemanta a free content discovery tool that automatically recommends relevant content to bloggers, as they write posts and draft content. These partnerships are a continuing PRWeb initiative to advance the industry’s leading online network for news distribution. In aggregate, PRWeb’s distribution network makes news release content available to an audience of more than 80 million unique visitors in the United States alone.
