(PRWEB) April 23, 2012
PT Development (PTD), a Louisville-based private equity firm, is excited to announce that one of its start-up companies, Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS), has been awarded an Outcomes Excellence Certificate from Focus On Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO), a nationwide outcomes database and reporting service for healthcare providers. FOTO is an external party that provides analysis and grants awards to a select group of providers across the country to recognize the excellence achieved in effectiveness of treatment. TexPTS received the prestigious FOTO award for reporting better patient outcomes than the national average in the third and fourth quarters of 2011.
PTD, which co-founded TexPTS, maintains on-going operating roles in all aspects of TexPTS’ clinics including human resources, strategy, marketing, finance, accounting, compliance, and business development. PTD’s continuous focus on the integration of the patient experience and their nationally respected clinical expertise has helped TexPTS grow from a single clinic to fourteen locations in the past five years. TexPTS’ clinical success highlighted in the FOTO Outcomes Excellence Certificates is a testament to both their and PTD’s dedication to clinical excellence and customer service.
TexPTS first implemented FOTO into their practice in August 2010. The primary benefit of FOTO outcomes is that it provides a benchmark measure for overall quality and value of the services offered by an organization. When patients receive treatment from TexPTS physical therapists they are receiving treatment that has documented effectiveness and efficiency. Since put into practice, FOTO has made outcomes tracking more visible and aided in training and continuing education for TexPTS physical therapists.
“Before we started using FOTO, we had a systematic approach to applying evidence-based principles in practice through our ties with Evidence In Motion’s (EIM) Residency and Fellowship Program,” states Rob Wainner, PT, PhD, TexPTS physical therapist and co-founder. “EIM and TexPTS’s adoption of FOTO took this to a new level by helping us reinforce a culture of clinical excellence; measuring and tracking our outcomes progress is now an integral part of the treatment process.” Wainner also reports that TexPTS proactively plans to achieve this award in the future by fine tuning clinician training and teaching.
“Many providers state that they provide quality care for patients based on their own assessment of their outcomes,” states Larry Benz, DPT, MBA, CEO and founder of PTD. “We believe that exceptional outcomes can only be affirmed through the use of an independent third party specialist, like FOTO. TexPTS is committed to achieving the best outcomes for patients and the use of FOTO ensures that each patient gets better, faster.”
