Pacific DataVision (PDV), a recognized leader in wireless voice messaging, dictation and documentation services, today announced that its SkyMail service has been selected as a finalist in GSMA's 13th Annual Global Mobile Awards.

SkyMail was chosen as one of the top five finalists in the Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service category out of numerous applicants from across the globe that applied for the award. Pacific DataVision will be proudly listed as a finalist among other technology innovators such as Microsoft Corporation, which is also competing for the Best Mobile Enterprise Product or Service Award.

"We are very excited that Pacific DataVision has been selected as a finalist among some of the best mobile enterprise solution providers across the globe," said John C. Pescatore, President & CEO of Pacific DataVision. "Being recognized as part of the Global Mobile Awards, clearly validates SkyMail's ability to deliver strong ROI benefits in driving revenue, enhancing operational efficiencies and improving customer satisfaction for our enterprise customers. We are committed to providing innovative mobile solutions that will help our customers to stay productive and profitable."

PDV's SkyMail is an application that enables mobile workers to wirelessly dictate, document, and share™ time sensitive information from any mobile phone via email, with their dispatch, central office, or another mobile worker by simply using their voice. The solution significantly increases the speed and accuracy of communications from the field, giving mobile workers literally the fastest way in the world to document an event or send a message.

SkyMail also significantly reduces hold times, allowing workers to be more efficient and focused on their primary tasks. Whether those tasks are selling, driving, hauling or installing services, SkyMail is changing the mobile communications landscape as a simple yet powerful business collaboration and documentation tool.
Moreover, SkyMail's customized email subject lines like "Service Outage - Critical" or "Job Closed Out - Non Critical" can be utilized to communicate the significance of the message so messages can be prioritized, allowing the recipient to act on the most important messages first.

The winners of the Global Mobile Awards will be officially announced on Tuesday, February 12th at the Global Mobile Awards Gala Dinner held in The National Palace in Barcelona, Spain. The awards dinner is part of the GSMA Mobile World Congress event (previously 3GSM), one of the world's largest communications conferences that brings together more than 230 chief executives to address issues that impact the mobile industry from a global perspective.

Rob Conway, GSMA's CEO had this to say about this year's awards event, "The 2008 Global Mobile Awards have once again attracted a widely diverse range of entries from all corners of the world, demonstrating the social, business and economic impact that mobile communications is having on society. I congratulate the nominees on their achievement thus far, being shortlisted by our independent judging panel is no mean feat given the caliber of subject matter experts it comprises, and the quality and quantity of submissions received. We await the announcement of the winners at the Global Mobile Awards evening during the Mobile World Congress with keen interest."

More about SkyMail
With SkyMail, the sender just selects a pre-assigned recipient or a customized subject line from their mobile phone's contact list to simply call and speak a message that is recorded and delivered to the inbox of an individual or group (up to 50) as an audio email. No typing. No delays. Great detail shared immediately.

The recipient then receives an email containing a link to the voice message and a text reply box, allowing him/her to reply with a text message that is delivered directly back to the sender's phone. This functionality allows for a continuous stream of prioritized documented two-way communication. Both the audio and text messages are time stamped and stored on a password protected site for record-keeping and report generation purposes.

In addition to the enterprise benefits of SkyMail, consumers experience lifestyle benefits such as convenient reminder notes, non-intrusive messaging and the fastest and easiest way in the world to send an email from a mobile phone.

SkyMail works on virtually all mobile phones without any software to download or complicated menus to navigate through. To learn more about SkyMail visit
