Area children will have a golden opportunity to celebrate the start of spring at one of the largest free Easter egg hunts in the area. The event will be held at Parkmerced Apartments at Juan Bautista Circle on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 12:00 pm
Parkmerced Apartments in San Francisco is expected to host more than 500 children at its third annual event featuring 10,000 colorful eggs. Children will be divided into groups so they can seek out a limited number of golden eggs that contain a ticket redeemable for an Easter basket worth more than $100. All other eggs are filled with candy and prizes to please everyone with a sweet tooth.
The Easter bunny will make a special appearance and be available for pictures and to spread holiday cheer.
“We are excited to host our third annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt,” said Didi L. MacDonald, general manager of the second-largest apartment neighborhood west of the Mississippi River. “It’s a great opportunity for area residents to get together and celebrate the start of spring.”
Parkmerced has ordered 10,000 pre-stuffed eggs that are made of 100-percent recyclable material. Participants are encouraged to enjoy the candy and prizes inside the eggs and then recycle the plastic containers so they can be donated to local schools
