Bridge360, a technical quality leader for software Internationalization and quality assurance, announced today that Fortune 100 technology leader Philip Smith has joined the company as Director of Professional Services. Smith is a former Project Lead at HP and EDS, and brings more than 20 years of expertise in the project management sector.
With EDS, Smith was directly responsible for software development programs in the Supply Chain space, and for deployment of General Motors common system to emerging markets. Most recently, he was a Business Consultant to GM’s Global Supply Chain Operations.
“As an experienced team leader for large global projects, Phil understands the challenges that our clients face and how we can make an immediate impact to project quality and efficiency," said Brenda Hall, CEO of Bridge360. “Much as he has done in his years with EDS and HP for projects with such clients as GM, Phil will lead our professional services team to ensure our clients enjoy peace of mind with on-time, on-budget projects supported by some of the best technologists in the business."
Through his role as Director of Professional Services, Smith oversees all Bridge360 projects. This includes working with Bridge360 clients to ensure projects and deliverables align with resource commitments, budgets and timelines. He will also focus on implementing best practices for project management and software development within the Bridge360 delivery teams.
“A few years ago, GM and EDS were in need of a solution to ‘Internationalize' a major legacy application. This was a large scale and complex project with significant budget, time, and technical constraints that were non-negotiable," said Smith. "We selected Bridge360 as a partner, and they delivered on time and within budget. They are a first- class organization, and I am looking forward to being a member of their team.”
Smith’s successful track record as a business consultant and solution architect has enabled him to operate in complex application landscapes. His experience and contributions are quickly allowing Bridge360 to grow and expand in the custom application development area.
“Phil has already opened up our capabilities to scale and deliver services without compromising quality,” said Hall.
A Michigan native, Smith received a Finance degree from Western Michigan University. He is also a Certified Project Manager from the Project Management Institute.
