Phurnace Announces General Availability of Phurnace Deliver™ 3.3

Web app server configuration software expands platforms and capabilities.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 10, 2008 -- Phurnace Software, Inc., the Java application deployment company, today announced the general availability of its newest version, Phurnace Deliver. The latest release provides IT operations staff with the resources they need to decrease configuration errors, which is one of the biggest sources of system downtime. The software reduces deployment times and associated costs for faster, more cohesive enterprise Java deployments on the leading web application server platforms. Phurnace Deliver 3.3 is implemented with an Eclipse Rich Client Platform user interface and a command line interface option for directly launching its functionality.

"Phurnace continues to advance its product and add powerful capabilities" said Larry Warnock, Phurnace CEO. "This release extends our value to the JBoss platform and adds a list of enhancements that will speed adoption and improve ease of use. Managing web application servers shouldn't be as complex as it is today, nor should companies have to hire expert consultants and high-priced resources to do repetitive tasks. We will change the market by fixing all of that."

Phurnace Deliver 3.3 provides comprehensive support for IT staff and developers during complex enterprise Java troubleshooting and deployments to decrease errors, streamline implementations and avoid the downtime and outages that come with manual or script-based processes.

The new release provides unique features for the JBoss web application server, including support for remote investigation, set up and deployment. The release continues to support IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic web application servers.

Phurnace Deliver 3.3 provides additional functionality for users including:

  • Added support for JBoss Web application servers (IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic currently supported)
  • Ability to compare configurations across remote servers to aid troubleshooting
  • Direct integration into industry standard source code repositories (e.g. Subversion and CVS)
  • Additional wizards for ease of set up and use
  • A "Deployment Packager" to quickly make changes to configurations and deploy them network-wide
  • Eclipse RCP graphical user interface and command line interface options.

"Subtle configuration drift and configuration bloat are realities operations staff face not just during deployment but also when diagnosing production outages" said Vishwanath Venugopalan, Enterprise Software Analyst at The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation. "Phurnace is certainly attempting to solve a real problem area in enterprise Java systems management." (These comments appeared in an independent report titled "Phurnace Software sees a hot opportunity in Java EE deployment" which was published in February of this year.) (See editors note below).
