Plumbworld recently announced that it had achieved a 50,000 positive feedback score on its eBay shop.

eBay is the online auctioneer that sells everything from clothes to cars to bathroom products. Products are listed and bought by visitors to the site. Plumbworld started retailing on eBay when it realised that there was a great opportunity to make additional sales outside of its dedicated online store.

Anthony Langston, Website Administrator of Plumbworld, explained:

“eBay is a great platform to display and sell your products to a new audience. eBay is so popular we don’t really have to worry about marketing, the stuff just sells itself. I’d recommend that anyone who wants to sell or buy anything online go straight to eBay. It’s very easy to use and buyers can be sure they’re buying from a reliable source by checking the feedback ratings of sellers, for example a visitor to the site would be able to tell that Plumbworld was a trustworthy seller because of our extremely high positive feedback rating.”

Sellers receive feedback on every item they sell meaning that customers can air their grievances or share their praise with all of the future visitors to that seller’s profile. Customer feedback drives eBay success which is part of the reason Plumbworld has been so successful. The company has always boasted strong customer service which has clearly carried across to its eBay store which has reached ‘power seller’ status. The power seller logo marks out successful retailers that meet eBay’s strict criteria. Sellers wishing to become power sellers must meet qualifications regarding sales, feedback, ratings and others.

Furthermore eBay awards ‘Stars’ based on positive feedback. Plumbworld has now gained a ‘purple shooting star’ on its profile to signify a 50,000 feedback score.

Scott Morris, E-commerce Manager at Plumbworld, told us:

“We’re very proud of how well the Plumbworld website has done. Our customer service and great products have won through and meant that we’ve been especially successful on eBay. It’s a lot harder retailing on eBay for many people because it’s so transparent, everyone can see what all of your customers think of you all of the time, there’s no way to cover it up! Outside of eBay most businesses hide away any bad feedback and a lot of them don’t trade on eBay because of that. The transparency is great for us though because it proves to our customers that we are providing top flight service, we’re not perfect, no company is, but we try to be and we’ve come pretty close.”

Plumbworld was a pioneer of online trading in the plumbing products market, first trading online in 1999. The company now has an annual turnover in excess of £18 Million. The Company is based in Evesham in Worcestershire and employs over 50 people.
