Every year an increasing amount of people are going on family holidays, travelling, sight-seeing and just general business trips. The majority of the time people rely on hotels to provide accommodation throughout their trip and as everyone knows, there are good ones and bad ones. However, people have unanimously stated that the one thing that can literally ‘make or break’ their opinion on a hotel, is of course, the bathroom.
Hotel owners aren’t stupid (well, most) and they caught onto this quite early after conducting their own consumer research on visitors most likely. Now, it’s very hard to come across a 3-5* hotel with a shoddy bathroom, in fact, they are deemed luxury in comparison to the average homeowner’s bathroom suite – which is saying quite a lot.
So, what has the most recent study revealed? It has clearly shown that almost 90% of people wish they had the bathroom of a 3-5* hotel that they had previously stayed in, rather than their own.
Now is this because most hotels have luxury high-price bathrooms? Not really. Most are made to budget and make the most of great value for money equipment which portrays the luxury feel they want the customers to experience.
This is where Plumbworld steps in; offering a huge variety of high-quality bath-tubs, showers and other bathroom fittings at affordable prices. They make it as easy as possible to replicate that bathroom you fell in love with at the hotel, down to the exact toilet brush holder they used.
Scott Morris, Marketing Manager at Plumbworld commented on the results of the study. “It’s always good when things like this come to light, because it enables businesses to react and tailor themselves to really address what customers want. It helps that we’re already offering what the majority of people want; quality goods at realistic prices that people can afford. This is all hotels do, a lot have contracts with specific retailers to refurbish dated bathrooms with up to date fittings, but they have a set budget per room. It’s definitely achievable for customers to replicate hotel bathrooms at a reasonable price; some hotels might even be happy to recommend a retailer!”
Plumbworld currently operates on the new, rebranded and ever-expanding Online Home Retail Network which currently encompasses around 50 websites which sell everything from cheap barbecues and Draper tools to garden sprinklers and patio heaters. Online Home Retail Limited first started out as Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a major rebrand in 2012. The business now employs 60 people in its purpose built warehouse/offices and has a total turnover nearing £25 million per year.
