The QuoteWerks Developer Partner Program is a free program for any organization looking to create new integrations or features using the QuoteWerks API. Currently, over 300 developer partners utilize the QuoteWerks API worldwide. The QuoteWerks API enables companies to create integrations with a variety of packages such as custom contact management and accounting programs as well as expand the already robust functionality of QuoteWerks for their own internal use or for clients of their organization.

The partner program and API have been offered to outside customers and companies since 2001. The success of the API is evidenced by the use of it by companies such as ConnectWise, the Autotask Corporation, and Tigerpaw Software, Inc. which have all written integrations into QuoteWerks using the API giving their respective customer bases access to the sales automation efficiencies QuoteWerks delivers.

It is very important for every application to offer an API. Without APIs, each application is simply its own isolated island, incapable of interacting or sharing data with other applications. The API ensures applications can interact and share data with other software solutions, leveraging the individual strengths of each application in order to create a more complete solution.

Our COM based API extends the functionality of QuoteWerks by enabling companies to create custom applications that perform any specialized task by reading and writing information to the active QuoteWerks document.

Once a company has completed the Developer Partner Agreement, the developer partner will be given access to the QuoteWerks Software Development Kit (SDK). Programming knowledge is required to use the QuoteWerks API; however there is a list of developers available with experience in the QuoteWerks API if the organization does not have a developer on staff.

There are innumerous API-based solutions that can be developed using the QuoteWerks API such as:

•     An application with lease payment options where the user selects an option and the details can be written back to the quote.
•     Retrieval of information from the tabs of the QuoteWerks workbook, such as the line item information, and write the information out to a text file or other proprietary format to be used for importing into another system.
•     An integration to another contact manager not currently supported using the QuoteWerks API to capture events triggered in QuoteWerks when a contact is pulled into the quote, when the quote is saved, converted to an order, or printed.
•     An analysis application that examines the content of the quote and performs validation checks that normally would require a supervisor to review.
•     A Group Part Number Builder which creates a Manufacturer Part Number for the Group Header lines created by Bundles, Configurations, or on-the-fly based on a Custom field in each member of the Group. For instance if the Custom Text field for Line 1 contains an 'A', Line 2 contains a '3' and Line 3 contains a 'T', the part number generated would be 'A3T'.

Each Development Partner that creates a new integration for QuoteWerks will also have the opportunity to have their application listed on the QuoteWerks website. Staff from Aspire Technologies, Inc. will test the solution for functionality, stability, and to ensure it does not compromise the integrity of QuoteWerks. Once the demo has been completed it can be approved by management and then added to the QuoteWerks Add-On Page with a brief description of functionality and a link to the developer’s website.

Additionally, once an organization has demonstrated extensive knowledge of QuoteWerks and the API, the partner has the option to become a preferred developer and can have their contact information placed on the Developers page along with a list of their developed applications.
