Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) May 03, 2012
Project Manager Kevin Proops of Solomon Associates, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, is presenting a session titled “Examining Turnaround Duration and Intervals as Factors Impacting Turnaround Costs” at the 2012 Shutdowns Superconference, June 12–13, in Houston, TX, USA.
The presentation will look at turnaround unavailability (duration divided by interval) as the largest driver of relative cost efficiency in refineries.
“Solomon’s presentation at the Shutdown Superconference will provide attendees with further insight into how to deliver a plant turnaround effectively and stay on budget,” said Proops. “Our unique strategies and proprietary data help operators and contractors execute an improved turnaround.”
In the session, Proops will:
“The key success factors include ‘lessons learned’ that can be applied to refinery turnarounds around the world,” said Proops. “The Solomon data we analyze for our worldwide client base demonstrates what works when it comes to refining best practices.”
Proops manages the deep drill-down analysis of energy efficiency, conversion unit yield performance, maintenance, and turnarounds, which has brought new insights to the global refining industry in these critical areas. Prior to joining Solomon as a manager in 2007, Proops spent 27 years at energy companies including Conoco, Frontier, and Flint Hills Resources.
For the past 10 years, the Shutdowns Superconference has provided a forum for operators, contractors, and suppliers. It will bring together shutdown, turnaround, and outage professionals to discuss current challenges, solutions, and the latest strategies to improve turnaround performance.
The two-day conference will be held at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel. Proops will present on Wednesday, June 13, at 4 p.m.
