Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 19, 2012
Senior consultant Joe Barth of Solomon Associates, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, is leading two refining courses this month: a one-day seminar titled “Fundamentals of the Petroleum Downstream Industry” on Sept. 25, and a two-day Refinery Economics Seminar (RES) on Sept. 26-27. Both will be held in Dallas, TX USA.
“In order to be leaders in the industry, companies need well-informed employees at all levels of their refining and petrochemical businesses,” said Barth. “Solomon Associates’ refining seminars will contribute to the overall success and profitability of these organizations.”
The Fundamentals of the Petroleum Downstream Industry course is open to anyone in the refining and petrochemicals business wanting to gain a basic understanding of the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the basic functions and operations of a typical oil refinery, profit drivers in the downstream industry, and common jargon used by industry professionals.
The Refinery Economics Seminar is for anyone who takes part in the development of refinery operating plans or helps decide business strategy. It is designed to help operators improve planning and maximize refinery profits, and will focus on tactical economic evaluations that the industry faces. Solomon’s unique approach to marginal economics and linear program (LP) models will be discussed. Barth will also highlight the planning and optimization of best practices.
