Austin, Texas (PRWEB) June 06, 2012

Luxury home brokerage Regent Property Group reports Texas has been named the #2 friendliest state for small businesses, with its capital of Austin also receiving high marks, in a nationwide survey by Thumbtack.com. “As a business owner in the market of helping clients start an Austin home search, I can happily attest to the results of this survey,” Austin Realtor Brian Talley said.

Texas soared above rival states in a variety of rankings, earning an A-, A, or A+ grade in 9 of 12 possible rankings. The state's best showing was for overall friendliness towards small business, where the state earned an A+ for its ranking as #2 most friendly nationwide. Texas is no stranger to the reputation of a friendly community, with desirable neighborhoods like Steiner Ranch and West Lake known for their sense of community.

This friendly business climate is tangibly evident as major companies like Apple and Samsung plan larger campuses in Austin. Plus, “smaller businesses are integral to a local economy,” Talley said. “They are mutually beneficial to each other in terms of utilization of goods, they hire locally, and they keep money in the city, all of which translates into good news for the real estate market.”

Austin received an A+ for the ease of starting a business; health and safety regulations; employment, labor and hiring; tax code; and zoning. It earned an A in the ranking categories of overall regulations; licensing; training programs; and environmental regulations. Only Iowa ranked ahead of Texas in the survey.
