Avenidas is pleased to announce the following events will take place during the month of June.
On Wednesday, June 12, residents are invited to be heroes and give blood at the Avenidas/Stanford Blood Drive from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Avenidas.
Beginning on Thursday, June 13, and every Thursday in June, there will be free retirement planning strategies workshops available. Each session will be taught by John JL Dominge, CFS, CLTC, Wealth Management Advisor. These workshops will run from 10 - 11:30 a.m. and pre-registration is required by calling (650) 289-5400. The topic for each session is as follows:
Thursday, June 13: Challenges of a Long & Successful Retirement
Thursday, June 20: Income You Cannot Outlive
Thursday, June 27: Emotions, Expectations & Economics
Ever have a dream of making it on Broadway? Now’s the chance to learn Tap and Shim Sham from award-winning dancer, singer and actress and the Artistic Director of Broadway by the Bay Amanda Folena. From street hoofing to show-stopping shuffles, come and learn to dance like a pro for free on Monday, June 17 from 2 – 3 p.m.
For all the music lovers out there, if music has become a bit harder to hear these days, don’t miss out on the lecture by Dr. Peg Lisi, Audiologist, who’ll provide tips on better music enjoyment for those with hearing loss on Tuesday, June 18 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Avenidas. This lecture is no cost for attendees.
With the constant battle to maintain proper sodium levels in diets, Avenidas is pleased to bring in nutrition educator, Khanh Ngo for a seminar on how to become more “sodium savy.” This event will take place on Thursday, June 20 from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. and is free.
Avenidas will be offering one-on-one tutoring throughout the month with digital experts to explain how to get the most out of tablets, smart phones and personal computers or Macs. It’s only $5 for members/$10 for non-members, which will feature 50 minutes of hands-on learning. Call (650) 308-4252 for an appointment.
