Entering its 29th year the Ontario Oyster Festival was a shucking good time for all! Oyster lovers congregated at Rodney’s Oyster House July 17 to discover, savour, indulge and celebrate the oyster.

Festival goers lined up to tease their palates with delectable, savoury oysters and the freshest seafood, indulge in a selection of wine and craft beer specifically selected to maximize satisfaction, and enjoy the live tunes of Rowboat Rescue Operation, DJ Soulcial and Ride the Tiger.

This year’s theme was “Make the Oyster Great Again” and included the best leather-handed oyster shuckers in the Province, expertly unlocking mollusks in the blink of an eye, competing for the opportunity to represent Ontario at the Canadian championships in PEI.

Shucking for a great cause! The Ontario Oyster Festival is a long-time supporter of environmental charities across the country with over $10,000 raised to date. The Ecology Action Centre, Atlantic Canada’s longest standing ecological charity, was the beneficiary this year’s festivities.
