Rohm and Haas Launches New Fast-Dry Adhesive For Carton Sealing Tapes in Europe
Specialty Materials Company Rohm and Haas has announced the release of their ROBONDTM FD-07 adhesive in Europe.
Philadelphia, PA (Vocus/PRWEB ) November 8, 2007 -- Specialty Materials Company Rohm and Haas has announced the release of their ROBONDTM FD-07 adhesive in Europe. The product is formulated to provide faster drying times because it uses a novel high solids technology, enabling increased line speeds and energy savings in the production of carton sealing tapes.
Users of the product will find that they can increase line speeds as much as 25 percent, thereby increasing capacity and productivity significantly. "The impact of this product is three-fold," says Dr. Bill Griffith, group leader, Research and Development for Rohm and Haas. "By running the production line faster, customers save money on energy expended to dry the product, they save on labor costs, and they can postpone equipment investments while still expanding business."
The adhesive is expected to be adopted by current users of ROBOND adhesives for packaging tapes and is geared toward the low noise tape market. "In Europe, we used to have two kinds of face-stocks for packaging tapes," says Giuseppe Pedala, European commercial manager, PSA. "We had polypropylene and PVC. Now, with ROBOND FD-07, you can produce a polypropylene tape that dries quickly and still meets low noise requirements. This differentiates our adhesive from other products on the market."
"ROBOND FD07 has the performance of PS83-D adhesive in terms of shear, holding power and low noise characteristics, but has a high solids content," says Pedala. "This, together with its specific formulation allows for fast water release and drying time." End users will see no difference in the product and can expect the same low noise and high holding power that they have come to expect from the market leader in adhesives for carton sealing tapes. The product is expected to allow European customers to reduce production costs and compete against more costly tape imports coming from Asia.
